The Tsodilo Hills

Here you will find our main article on the Tsodilo Hills.

The Tsodilo Hills, consisting of four small hills, remain a sacred place for the San people (Bushmen), who believe the spirits of their ancestors rest there. For the Hambukushu, a Bantu-speaking people who moved to Botswana later, the area is considered the "Cradle of Humankind."

The rock art at the Tsodilo Hills is among the oldest in the world, with some paintings estimated to be at least 24,000 years old. Researchers have documented 4,500 individual artworks within just 22 km², giving the Tsodilo Hills the nickname "The Louvre of the Desert."

A visit to the Tsodilo Hills is undeniably a remarkable and enriching experience!
