Animal sightings are always a matter of luck and also depend on the season or water level in Moremi, but the chance of being able to observe and photograph a good part of the spectrum of African wild animals on this day tour is very good.
There is an astonishing number of animals in Moremi. Elephants are numerous, especially during the dry season. Buffaloes and giraffes, hippos and crocodiles as well as many predators (lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, etc.) also live in Moremi. Even rhinos are found here! Most African antelope species also call the Moremi Game Reserve home. As everywhere in the Okavango Delta, there are countless species of birds.

Guided Moremi game drive day tour
The full-day game drive begins at 6 a.m. at the Island Safari Lodge, where you will be met by your professional guide. In an open safari vehicle you will drive in northern direction for about 100 km north and then directly into the Moremi game reserve. Guests will spend the entire day in an off-road vehicle exploring the diverse area. This day tour is therefore only partially suitable for children.
At 4871 km², the Moremi Game Reserve is quite large and to cover the entire park on a day trip would be too much. The guides at Island Mobile Safaris therefore focus on finding the best routes depending on the season and water level. Their many years of experience and knowledge of the behavior of wild animals in Moremi are an invaluable advantage. You will gain a lot of information about Moremi's wildlife and have great photo opportunities throughout the day.
The Moremi day game drive ends again at the Island Safari Lodge, usually in the late afternoon or after sunset. We therefore recommend staying overnight for two nights in this accommodation, which is quite cheap for Botswana standards.
