Combination of helicopter flight and Mokoro tour

Helicopter flight plus mokoro tour from Helicopter Horizons

Starting at Maun airport and flying at low altitude, you will be brought to the remote Mokoro station, located in the southwestern Okavango Delta. Here you get a brief but picturesque impression of the Okavango Delta from a bird's eye view. There will be some worthwhile photography opportunities for you.

At the Mokoro station you will change to the traditional dugout canoes. A journey across the channels, lagoons and flood plains of the Okavango Delta awaits you. An experienced mokoro captain from the local community maneuvers the traditional dugout canoe quietly and almost silently with a nkashi (wooden pole). Here you can enjoy the vegetation and animals in undisturbed silence. Small reed frogs, lots of water birds and larger wild animals such as hippos and elephants on the banks (don't worry, safety is of the utmost importance) are not uncommon. The picturesque water lilies and reed banks offer magical photo opportunities.

Back at the Mokoro station, your pilot will serve you tea and coffee and you can reflect on the impressive experience.

Then you fly back to Maun Airport.

Contains:

  • A total of 45 minutes “Doors Off” helicopter sightseeing flight to Mokoro Station and back
