Duke's East
Exclusive safari camp in the north of the Okavango Delta
The surrounding landscape is shaped by open savannas, seasonal lagoons, winding channels and mopane woodlands – creating an ideal habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. Like its sister property (Duke’s Camp), Duke’s East is deeply committed to nature conservation and works closely with local communities. The camp operates under a sustainable model that places respect for both the environment and cultural heritage at its core.
Accommodation at Duke's Camp
With only four spacious tented suites, the camp offers a uniquely intimate safari experience. The tents are designed in a classic safari style with warm lighting, elegant furnishings, and atmospheric details. Each suite features an en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a private veranda offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding wilderness. The central area of the camp is open and welcoming, with a cozy lounge, dining area, and a firepit – perfect for relaxing after the day’s adventures. Guests often gather here in the evenings for sundowners and dinner beneath the stars, accompanied by the sounds of the African night.
Activities and tours at Duke's Camp
The camp’s location in one of the most wildlife-rich regions of the northern Delta offers ideal conditions for exciting game viewing. Classic game drives are offered in the early morning and late afternoon, along with night drives to observe nocturnal species. When water levels allow, mokoro excursions are also available – traditional dugout canoe trips that allow guests to glide silently through the labyrinthine waterways of the Delta and experience the ecosystem from a new perspective. Guided bush walks with experienced guides offer a deeper, more personal connection to the land, with a focus on the smaller wonders of the natural world that are often missed on drives.
Duke’s East is accessible only by light aircraft, typically from Maun or Kasane. Its remote setting ensures a truly authentic safari experience, far from mass tourism – in a place where nature sets the pace.
