Atzaró Okavango
Exclusive safari oasis in the heart of the Delta
Atzaró Okavango is one of the newest luxury camps in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, opening in March 2024 as a joint project between the Atzaró Hotel Group and African Bush Camps. It is situated between the Moremi Game Reserve and the Gomoti Plains on a private concession, offering exclusive access to one of the most wildlife-rich regions of the Delta. The lodge is accessible only by helicopter, either from Maun International Airport or from the two African Bush Camps, Khwai Experiences and Linyanti Experiences.
Accommodation at Atzaró Okavango
The camp features nine comfortable tented suites for couples and one spacious family suite. Each suite is stylishly designed, blending modern design with natural materials. In addition to a generous bedroom and an elegant bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers as well as a bathtub, each suite includes a private terrace with its own plunge pool. In addition to the suites, there is a luxurious villa available for exclusive use for up to four guests, complete with a private guide and vehicle.
The communal areas are also generously appointed. The centerpiece is the lounge, which includes a restaurant, bar, wine cellar, and an open-air boma for evenings around the fire. Guests can swim in the 20-meter-lap pool, work out in the gym, or relax in the spa with a yoga shala and wellness treatments. Sustainability is a key focus: the entire camp is powered by solar energy, water is treated on-site, and construction was carried out with care to preserve existing vegetation.
Activities and tours at Atzaró Okavango
The safari and activity offerings are diverse and depend on the season and water levels. Daily game drives in the morning and afternoon are included, as well as night drives and guided walking safaris. When water levels permit, guests can also take traditional mokoro excursions. Additionally, helicopter flights, boat and fishing trips, bird watching, stargazing, and culinary experiences such as bush dining and sundowners are available. For children, there is the Ngwana Club, which offers specially tailored activities.
