Luxury camp in the eastern Okavango Delta
Khwai Leadwood is an exclusive safari camp located in the Khwai Community Concession in the eastern Okavango Delta, adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is open year-round, with the best time to visit during the dry season from May to October, when animals gather at the waterholes, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.
Accommodation at Khwai Leadwood
The camp features seven tented accommodations, including five luxury tented suites with a king-size bed or two single beds and a private bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a honeymoon suite with a freestanding bathtub on the private terrace, and a family suite with two bedrooms for up to four people, including a shared bathroom and private terrace overlooking the Khwai River. All accommodations are stylishly furnished and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Guests can relax on comfortable sun loungers by the pool in a peaceful and inviting setting while enjoying panoramic views of the river. The cozy lounge, welcoming dining area, and reading corner provide spaces for comfort and relaxation. Evenings can be spent around the fire pit, unwinding under the starry sky and enjoying the warmth of the fire.
Activities and tours at Khwai Leadwood
Guests can enjoy day and night game drives led by experienced guides, offering opportunities to observe the region’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, and antelopes. Guided walking safaris allow for close encounters with the flora, fauna, and animal tracks. When water levels permit, mokoro excursions in traditional dugout canoes provide a unique way to explore the Khwai River and observe wildlife from the water. Bird watching is particularly rewarding in the area, with numerous native and rare species. Guests can also visit the nearby Khwai community to learn more about local culture and traditions. For children, the Ngwana Club offers a special program of nature walks, games, and activities, introducing them playfully to the surrounding environment.
