Meno a Kwena

Family-friendly camp at the Boteti River

Meno a Kwena (Crocodile Teeth) Camp is located on the western boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, perched on a 100-foot high clifftop overlooking the beautiful Boteti River, the region's only permanent body of water, attracting numerous prey and predators during the dry season. In April, thousands of wildebeest and zebra migrate to the river, joining the local wildlife and waterfowl.

Accommodation at Meno a Kwena

Meno a Kwena features ten classic tents with colonial-style furnishings and fully equipped bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers. There are two family units with interconnecting tents (1x3 beds and 1x2 beds), perfect for children, and all ages are welcome. Unwind in the refreshing rock pool, with a spa treatment, or while watching wildlife from high above the river bend.

Activities and tours at Meno a Kwena

Guests embark on game drives in open 4x4 vehicles through the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, where they may encounter elephants, zebras, wildebeest, antelope, lions, hyenas, and with some luck, even wild dogs. When water levels allow, boat safaris on the Boteti River offer close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birdlife. Just below the camp, a floating hide provides a unique vantage point for observing animals as they come to drink at the river. Another highlight is guided walks with San Bushmen, where visitors learn about traditional survival skills, animal tracking, medicinal plants, and cultural songs. Classic walking safaris with experienced trackers are also available, as well as stargazing beneath the clear Kalahari sky. During the dry season from June to October, guests can opt for a sleep-out on the salt pans—an unforgettable night under the stars.
