Untamed wilderness on the Mohave river
Far from the beaten track, in the private Northern Tuli Game Reserve, lies Mohave Bush Camp – a secluded haven for nature lovers. Nestled within the rugged beauty of the Mohave dry riverbed, the camp is part of the exclusive 24,000-acre Tuli Wilderness concession and is reserved for just one group of up to ten guests at a time. Guests meet their guide at Serolo Safari Camp before being escorted to Mohave Bush Camp. As the camp is only accessible by 4x4 vehicle, private cars can be safely parked at the Tuli Wilderness reception.
Accommodation at Mohave Bush Camp
The camp offers five unique units. Two are tent-style chalets with en-suite bathrooms and large glass sliding doors that open up to sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness. The other three are rustic huts featuring charming open-air bathrooms – an invitation to shower beneath the African sky. Solar power provides electricity, while hot water is heated by gas boilers or traditional wood fires. At the heart of the camp lies an open-sided lapa area with a fire pit, a small pool, and a view over a nearby waterhole. This is where guests gather after game drives, share stories of the day, or quietly watch wildlife come to drink. Elephants, hyenas, and even leopards are sometimes spotted here at close range.
Activities and Excursions at Mohave Bush Camp
Whether booked on a self-catering or fully catered option, the entire camp is exclusively available to your group. The rate includes the services of an experienced guide and two guided activities per day, such as game drives, night drives, or bush walks. For a special touch, a memorable bush dinner can be arranged on request at an additional cost. Unaccompanied walks or drives in the reserve are not permitted, ensuring both guest safety and wildlife conservation.
