Ngoma Safari Lodge

Boutique lodge at Chobe National Park

The Ngoma Safari Lodge is situated in the Chobe Forest Reserve in western Botswana on an elevated plateau overlooking the wildlife-rich floodplains of the Chobe River, where zebras, buffaloes, elephants, and many other animals can frequently be seen grazing. The Chobe National Park, often referred to as the "Land of Giants", is home to the largest elephant population in the world. Away from the busy lodges around Kasane, this intimate retreat offers a peaceful setting surrounded by nature while providing an excellent base for exploring the Chobe National Park on safari.

Accommodation at Ngoma Safari Lodge

All thatched chalets, built from locally sourced volcanic stone, feature a luxurious en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, minibar, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Large panoramic windows bring the surrounding landscape into the room, while a private veranda with a small plunge pool provides a secluded place to relax. Two of the ten suites are suitable for up to 4 people. Wi-Fi is available in the suites and main lodge area, although connectivity is intentionally limited.

The lodge's open-plan main area includes an elegant lounge, bar, restaurant, expansive viewing decks, and a swimming pool. Almost every part of the lodge enjoys sweeping views across the Chobe floodplains, making wildlife sightings during breakfast or evening drinks a regular occurrence. Freshly prepared cuisine with regional influences is served in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Activities and tours at Ngoma Safari Lodge

Safari activities include guided game drives in Chobe National Park, night drives in the Chobe Forest Reserve, and guided nature walks whenever conditions permit. Full-day boat safaris on the Chobe River are among the highlights of a stay and, depending on water levels, offer exceptional opportunities to observe large elephant herds, hippos, crocodiles, and an extraordinary diversity of birdlife. The activity programme is complemented by birdwatching and cultural visits to local communities in the Chobe region, providing guests with a deeper understanding of both the area's remarkable wildlife and the traditions of northern Botswana.
