Hideaways Camp Kuzuma

Nice little camp in the Kazuma Forest Reserve

Hideaways Camp Kuzuma is located in the remote Kazuma Forest Reserve in the Chobe Enclave in northeastern Botswana. The wildlife-rich region forms an important corridor between Botswana’s Chobe National Park and Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park and offers excellent opportunities for exceptional game viewing. Despite its secluded setting, the camp is easily accessible and is located approximately a one-hour drive from Kasane and around two hours from Victoria Falls.

Accommodation at Hideaways Camp Kuzuma

The small safari camp places great emphasis on an authentic bush experience combined with a high level of comfort. It operates completely off-grid and generates its electricity exclusively through a modern solar power system. To reduce energy consumption, air conditioning is only available at scheduled times.

Kuzuma features seven spacious, open-plan tented suites, set beneath shady Mopane trees and designed to provide maximum privacy. All suites include a king-size bed, a private sun deck, and a spacious safari-style bathroom with a freestanding Victorian bathtub, double vanity, two indoor showers, and an outdoor shower. Mosquito nets, fans, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a small sherry station are also provided. For families, two tented suites are connected by a short wooden walkway. Children from the age of seven are welcome.

The camp’s open main area overlooks a frequently visited waterhole and allows guests to enjoy wildlife sightings from the comfort of the lounge or bar. Additional facilities include a small library, a wellness area with spa treatments, an eco-friendly swimming pool, and several viewing areas overlooking the surrounding bushland. Wi-Fi is available in both the main area and the tented suites.

Activities and tours at Hideaways Camp Kuzuma

Activities include guided game drives in the Chobe region, boat cruises on the Chobe River, birdwatching, and stargazing beneath Botswana’s clear night skies. Experienced guides provide in-depth insights into the local wildlife and the ecological connections of this unique border region, which is considered one of the most important wilderness areas in southern Africa.
