Eco-friendly lodge at the Chobe River
The Chobe Elephant Camp is located approximately 60 km from Kasane in northeastern Botswana, situated on an elevated rocky ridge with impressive views over the majestic Chobe River and its floodplains. The thick walls of the eco-friendly lodge, built from red Kalahari sand, not only provide excellent insulation against the extreme temperature fluctuations of the semi-arid African bush but also create a rustic and welcoming atmosphere.
Accommodation at Chobe Elephant Camp
The accommodation consists of 18 spacious chalets, including two family units with two rooms each. All chalets feature private bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as private verandas offering views of the surrounding landscape. The architecture is inspired by traditional African farmhouses, combining natural materials with a comfortable safari style.
The lodge’s central area has an open design and includes a cosy lounge, a bar, a dining area and a reading corner. From the seating areas and the viewing deck, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Chobe River and the surrounding wilderness. A swimming pool provides a relaxing place to unwind between safari activities while offering beautiful views of the natural surroundings.
Activities and tours at Chobe Elephant Camp
The area surrounding Chobe Elephant Camp is renowned for its exceptional wildlife diversity. Guided game drives in open safari vehicles offer opportunities to observe elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, predators and numerous bird species. Additional activities include boat cruises on the Chobe River, canoe excursions through the seasonal floodplains and cultural visits with the local Sibuya community. Another highlight is a day trip to the nearby Victoria Falls, which can be arranged on request.
